Arsi University Teaching and Referral Hospital (ATRH) is proud to announce the successful implementation of an innovative pilot project designed to enhance emergency maternal care. Titled “Saving Time, Saving Life: Optimizing Emergency Cesarean Section Using a Color-Coded Protocol and Communication Device,” this initiative marks a significant step forward in our commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.

Spearheaded by Mr. Beyene Sisay, the project introduced a streamlined, color-coded system and dedicated communication tools to coordinate our emergency obstetric team. The protocol aims to reduce critical delays the time between the decision to perform an emergency cesarean section and the delivery of the baby a factor vital to improving outcomes for both mother and child.
The pilot has demonstrated promising results, fostering unparalleled teamwork among physicians, midwives, and anesthetists. By creating a clear, common language for high-stakes situations, the team can act more swiftly and cohesively, turning minutes into opportunities for better care.
This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff to innovate and improve. We celebrate this collaborative effort and its contribution to our mission of providing exceptional, life-saving healthcare to our community.
