3. Duties and Responsibility
The Library Directorate is tasked with the strategic management, acquisition, and dissemination of information resources to support the university’s teaching, learning, and research missions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acquiring, organizing, and preserving a diverse collection of print books, scholarly journals, and multimedia materials aligned with the university’s curriculum.
- Managing and expanding the university’s digital library infrastructure, including electronic databases (e-journals, e-books) and institutional repositories.
- Providing comprehensive reference and research support services, including assistance with literature searches, citation management, and plagiarism checks.
- Conducting regular information literacy and library orientation programs for new students, researchers, and faculty members.
- Creating, maintaining, and supervising conducive, modern study environments, including quiet study zones, discussion rooms, and ICT-equipped digital libraries.
