Arsi University Team Member Attends WEFACE project Workshop in Germany
In a resounding testament to its commitment to global empowerment, Arsi University’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences played a pivotal role in the “Women Empowerment in Food and Agriculture Cooperatives through Enabling Market Access” (WEFACE) project.
This transformative collaboration spanning four years unites Arsi University with prestigious institutions Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University, from Germany, the University of Gabes in Tunisia, and USSEIN University in Senegal. WEFACE’s central mission is to empower women within food and agriculture cooperatives tremendously by expanding their market access and bolstering their capacity-building and product development capabilities.
A significant milestone in this groundbreaking project was recently achieved as a dedicated team member from Arsi University participated in an intensive workshop hosted by Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University in Freising, Germany, from September 24th to 29th, 2023.
The workshop, which spanned seven dynamic days, showcased practical strategies and accomplishments in the field of women’s empowerment within the agricultural sector.
Arsi University’s active participation underscores its unwavering dedication to catalyzing meaningful change and fostering international collaboration in the pursuit of gender equality and sustainable development through its upcoming interventions during the project period.
