Dr. Fikadu Mitiku, President of Arsi University, along with Dr. Bonso Bude, Director of Research, Internationalization, and Partnership, engaged in a productive dialogue with H.E. Dr. Annelies Verstichel, the Belgian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti, Permanent Representative to the African Union, at the Belgian Embassy in Addis Ababa. The discussion centered on enhancing the existing partnership between Arsi University and Belgian higher education institutions while exploring new collaborative opportunities in health, agriculture, and technology. Dr. Fikadu highlighted Arsi University’s strategic location and its robust human and physical resources, positioning the institution as an ideal partner for Belgian universities.
H. E Ambassador Annelies expressed her appreciation for Arsi University’s leadership and commitment to fostering collaboration with Belgian institutions. She emphasized her intent to elevate the current relationship to new heights. Both parties identified several promising areas for cooperation, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, cultural exchanges, and collaborative funding for research projects.
