Arsi University President Discusses Performance Contract with Vice Presidents, Deans and Directors:

In a significant meeting held on December 30, Dr. Fikadu Mitiku, the President of Arsi University, convened with the deans and directors of all colleges to discuss the newly signed performance contract agreement with the Ministry of Education. The meeting aimed to provide insights into the university’s focus areas and the implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs).
The session commenced with a presentation by Mrs. Ethabezahu Haillu, the Director of Planning Preparation, Monitoring, and Evaluation. She outlined the university’s strategic focus areas and emphasized the importance of effectively cascading and implementing the identified KPIs.
During his address, Dr. Fikadu highlighted critical points that require the attention of the entire university community to enhance efficiency across the pillars of teaching and learning, research, community engagement, internationalization and good governance. He encouraged open dialogue, allowing attendees to voice their concerns and seek clarifications on how to uplift the university’s performance.
Dr. Fikadu expressed his appreciation for the commitment shown by the participants and addressed their queries regarding the performance contract. Finally, he urged the vice presidents, deans and directors to finalize the KPIs of their focus areas with the strategic planning directorate and make themselves ready for signing the contract on Thursday this week. He also added that everyone has to take an active role in this national agenda, emphasizing the importance of following through on the implementation of the KPIs at the departmental, team leader and individual levels.
The meeting marks a crucial step in aligning the university’s goals with national educational standards, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at enhancing the overall performance and impact of Arsi University.
