Arsi University Celebrates Graduation of Over 400 Health Science and other Students

In a heartfelt ceremony, Arsi University graduated over 404 students from its health science programs, including medicine, pharmacy, specialty, and various postgraduate programs. The event highlighted the hard work and dedication of the graduates, who have overcome numerous challenges to reach this significant milestone.
Dr. Gadisa Dejene, with the rank of Vice President, Chief Executive Director of the Health Science College, expressed his warmest gratitude to the graduates and their families during his welcoming speech. He acknowledged the support of stakeholders who contributed to the students’ success, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that made this day possible.

The graduation ceremony was officially opened by Dr. Fikadu Mitiku, President of Arsi University. He recognized the crucial roles played by students, families, academic staff, and administrative personnel in guiding the graduates to this momentous occasion. Dr. Fikadu encouraged the graduates to give back to the community that nurtured them, urging them to serve without reservation.

Guest of honor Dr. Dereje Duguma, State Minister of the Ministry of Health, underscored the vital role of health professionals in enhancing societal well-being. He urged the graduates to apply their knowledge and skills for the betterment of the nation and acknowledged the government’s commitment to improving health facilities and services across the country.

As these new professionals step into their roles, they carry with them the promise of making a significant impact in their communities.
Out of a total of 404 graduates, 98 have completed degrees in Medicine, 32 in Pharmacy, 32 in Specialty programs, while the remaining graduates are enrolled in other postgraduate programs.
