Arsi University Certificate learner Fantahun Tsegaye wins the 17th Chinese Bridge competition

The "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition is a large-scale international contest sponsored by Hanban, and is well-known in the cultural and educational exchanges worldwide. The 17th Chinese Bridge competition in Ethiopia was held on May 30, 2018 at Addis Ababa University. 15 students from Addis Ababa University, Mekelle University, Hawassa University, Jimma University and Arsi University enter the final.

The Addis Ababa University president Professor Tassew Woldehana and The Chinese Ambassador Mr. Tan Jian address the audience respectively. The competition consists of three parts: Prepared speech (3 minutes); unprepared speech (3 minutes); Chinese talent show (3 minutes). The score for each part is 100 point.

Chinese language certificate learners Fantahun Tsegaye wins the competition and he has also got the opportunity to go to Hunan Province, China to compete with the college students from all over the world.  The "Chinese Bridge" Competition aims to arouse the enthusiasm of students in various countries in learning Chinese and strengthen the world's understanding of Chinese language and culture. Confucius Classroom at Arsi University inaugurated on May 26, 2016. Currently, departments of Tourism Management & Marketing Management are offering Chinese language credit courses.
